Career Opportunity: Field Sales Event Coordinator at Jaza Energy Inc.
Jaza Energy Inc., a Canadian social enterprise, is on a mission to power Sub-Saharan Africa through solar energy. Jaza builds solar-powered hubs in remote villages, where local women (known as Jaza Stars) manage the exchange of batteries that provide clean, affordable electricity to last-mile customers.
The company is currently seeking a Field Sales Event Coordinator to join their Expansion team. This role is a specialized consultancy position focused on the logistical and operational excellence required to launch new service stations in remote regions of Tanzania.
Role Purpose: Executing the “Go-Live”
The Field Sales Event Coordinator is the “project manager” for the physical launch day of a new solar shop. You are responsible for moving a site from the construction phase to a fully operational service station handed over to the permanent management team.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Precision is vital in this role. Jaza Energy measures success through specific technical metrics:
- First Pass Yield (FPY) ≥95%: Ensuring the vast majority of sites are launched perfectly the first time without missing equipment or documentation.
- Rework Rate ≤5%: Minimizing the need to return to a site to fix errors made during the launch.
Primary Accountabilities
1. Site Readiness & Logistics
- Inventory Control: Verify that all batteries, charging equipment, and marketing materials are on-site and functional.
- Compliance: Ensure all local permits, land agreements, and licenses are finalized before the grand opening.
- Inspections: Conduct final physical audits to ensure the shop meets Jaza’s brand and safety standards.
2. Stakeholder Engagement
- External Liaison: Act as the face of Jaza for local landlords, community leaders, and village elders to ensure community “buy-in.”
- Internal Coordination: Work across departments (Tech, Star Development, and Hypercare) to ensure a seamless transition of the shop to the local Jaza Stars.
3. Quality Assurance & Reporting
- Auditing: Participate in periodic audits to identify why “rework” happens and suggest corrective measures.
- Data Management: Provide progress updates to the Site Launch Team Lead and ensure all site assets are digitally recorded post-launch.
Requirements & Qualifications
Jaza is looking for a proactive individual comfortable with the challenges of “last-mile” logistics.
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Hands-on experience in sales coordination, event planning, or field logistics.
- Travel: Willingness to travel frequently to remote locations (this is a field-heavy role).
- Skills: Ability to work under tight timelines, adapt to changing rural environments, and maintain strong teamwork skills.
