Career Opportunity: Distribution Driver at Coca-Cola Kwanza (Tanzania)
Coca-Cola Kwanza, a subsidiary of Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA), is looking for three (3) Distribution Drivers to join its logistics team in Dar es Salaam. CCBA is the largest Coca-Cola bottler on the continent, and this role is central to ensuring their world-class products reach customers across Tanzania efficiently and safely.
As a Distribution Driver, you are more than just a transporter; you are a key representative of the brand, responsible for high-value assets, cash collection, and customer service.
Role Purpose: Primary and Secondary Distribution
The role is divided into two main logistics functions:
- Primary Distribution: Hauling bulk stock between manufacturing plants and large distribution centers.
- Secondary Distribution: Delivering products directly to retail customers and local distribution partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Stock & Asset Management: Move bulk stock “on time and in full.” You take full accountability for the truck, mobile devices, pallets, and the stock itself.
- Financial Accountability: Collect cash from customers, ensuring it is properly banked and settled without any shortages.
- Documentation: Compile and check all delivery invoices and documents to ensure accuracy before and after delivery.
- Crew Supervision: Lead and manage the loading crew assigned to your truck.
- Safety & Compliance: Abide by all Tanzanian traffic laws and CCBA safety standards to ensure a zero-fatality environment.
- Technical Operation: Use modern technology, including satellite tracking, cab cameras, and handheld mobile devices for load settlement.
Requirements & Qualifications
Coca-Cola Kwanza seeks professional drivers who understand the inter-connectivity of the supply chain.
- Education: Form IV Secondary Education.
- Certification: VETA Driving Certificate is mandatory.
- License: A valid and applicable driver’s license held for at least 3 years.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience with a clean record. Prior experience with a haulier (heavy lifting/distribution) is preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: Basic mechanical understanding to keep vehicles in safe operational condition.
- Flexibility: Must be prepared to work fixed shifts, including specific times of day or specific days of the week.
