Fema Mining & Drilling Limited, a performance-driven mineral extraction company based in the Mwanza region, is seeking a skilled Auto Electrician to join its Mechanics Department.
In the demanding environment of a mine site, the Auto Electrician is vital for ensuring that heavy machinery and support vehicles remain operational. This role involves working with complex wiring, high-voltage systems, and advanced diagnostic tools to minimize equipment downtime.
Role Overview: Diagnostics, Repair, and Safety
The Auto Electrician reports to the Workshop Supervisor and is responsible for the complete lifecycle of electrical maintenance for the fleet.
Key Accountabilities
- Diagnostics: Troubleshooting electrical faults in light vehicles and heavy-duty mining equipment.
- Maintenance & Installation: Performing preventative maintenance, installing new electrical components, and executing system upgrades or modifications.
- Safety Systems: Maintaining critical vehicle safety systems and ensuring all work complies with high-voltage safety protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Documentation: Reading and interpreting technical manuals and blueprints, and providing detailed reports on all repairs and faults.
Requirements & Qualifications
Fema Mining looks for technically proficient candidates who prioritize operational safety.
- Education: A Certificate from a recognized technical training school (e.g., VETA) is essential. A Certificate of Secondary School Education (CSEE) is an advantage.
- Experience: 2 to 3 years of experience in auto-electrical work is preferred.
- Physical Fitness: Must be mentally and physically fit to work in a mining environment and pass a rigorous medical check-up.
- Legal Compliance: Applicants must have a valid NIDA ID (or Number) and a TIN Number from TRA.
- Local Documentation: You must provide an introduction letter from your Local Government Authority and two professional referees.
Selection Process: Practical & Medical

- Practical Training: Candidates will first undergo a practical training and assessment program.
