The Path to Becoming an Asilia Resident Guide
Selected trainees will be placed in some of Tanzania’s most prestigious conservation areas. As a Resident Guide, you won’t just drive; you will be an educator, a storyteller, and a conservation ambassador.
Potential Placement Locations:
- Serengeti & Ngorongoro: The heart of the Great Migration.
- Tarangire: Famous for its massive elephant herds and baobab trees.
- Rubondo Island: A unique aquatic and forest ecosystem on Lake Victoria.
- Ruaha & Nyerere (Selous): Wild, remote landscapes in Southern Tanzania.
Candidate Requirements
Asilia is looking for personality and potential as much as technical skill. They seek “storytellers” who can provide guests with an unforgettable experience.
- Language: Must speak English fluently. Proficiency in other international languages is a significant advantage.
- Driving: Must possess a valid Class C driving license (new system).
- Age: Candidates must be 35 years or younger.
- Flexibility: Genuine willingness to live and work in remote, camp-based environments for long periods.
- Personality: Outgoing, positive, honest, and a strong team player.
