Securiport provides high-tech solutions for passenger biometric enrollment and data analysis. As a technician, you will be on the front lines, ensuring that the critical IT infrastructure used for immigration and border security remains operational 24/7.
Role Overview: Mission-Critical IT Support
Reporting to the Airport IT Supervisor, your primary mission is to maintain maximum system availability. In an airport environment, even a few minutes of downtime can lead to significant delays in passenger processing.
Key Responsibilities
- Hardware Maintenance: Maintain specialized devices used for biometric passenger enrollment (scanners, cameras) and replace components as needed.
- Network Continuity: Manage and troubleshoot the local computer network services to ensure uninterrupted data flow.
- Systems Security: Implement antivirus updates, manage data backups, and enforce strict security policies.
- Software Compliance: Install and configure software in accordance with company licensing and security protocols.
- Issue Tracking: Use formal tracking systems to document incidents and escalate complex problems to supervisors.
Candidate Requirements
Securiport is looking for candidates with a mix of academic knowledge and hands-on troubleshooting skills.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years troubleshooting Windows 10, Windows Server, and Linux.
- Languages: Fluent in both English and Kiswahili (written and spoken).
- Technical Edge (Plus): Experience with biometric technologies, SQL Server, or .NET (Visual Studio) is highly valued.
- Residency: Candidates currently residing in Arusha or Kilimanjaro are highly encouraged to apply due to the 24/7 nature of airport operations.
