Career Opportunity: Examination Officer II (Computer Science) at NACTVET

The National Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (NACTVET) is a strategic regulatory body responsible for overseeing the quality and certification of technical and vocational education in Tanzania. NACTVET is currently seeking three (3) qualified Computer Science professionals to join the examinations department as Examination Officer II.

This role is critical in maintaining the integrity of the national certification process, ensuring that results are processed accurately and technical awards are issued based on verified data.

Role Overview: Excellence in Academic Data

As an Examination Officer II, you will leverage your ICT background to manage the technical aspects of result verification, database maintenance, and certification. You will be at the heart of the NTA (National Technical Award) examination system.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Result Verification: Receive and verify both hard-copy and digital examination results submitted by various technical institutions.
• Data Processing: Process institutional results to assign accurate Grade Point Averages (GPAs) using NACTVET’s specialized systems.
• Database Management: Maintain and update secure databases for verified examination results, issued certificates, and academic transcripts.
• Examination Coordination: Coordinate the technical logistics of setting, moderation, marking, and grading of NTA examinations.
• Client Service: Address and resolve examination-related queries from both institutions and individual students.
• Evaluation & Certification: Manage the evaluation process for awards and maintain records for all issued transcripts and certificates.

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications

NACTVET is looking for detail-oriented IT professionals with a strong grasp of data management and academic systems.

• Education: Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), or a closely related field.
• Institution: The degree must be obtained from a recognized and accredited higher learning institution.
• Technical Proficiency: Ability to manage large datasets and maintain complex databases with high accuracy.
• Professionalism: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive academic data with integrity.
