Job Description

Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti is inviting applications from highly experienced and results-driven hospitality professionals to fill the position of Reservations Manager. This is a full-time senior role reporting directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing and is based within the heart of the Serengeti National Park.

Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti is a luxury destination offering exceptional guest experiences surrounded by one of the world’s most iconic wildlife reserves. The lodge features 77 luxury accommodations, including 12 suites and 5 private villas, multiple food and beverage outlets, a Discovery Centre, and a full-service spa. The property is conveniently located approximately 45 minutes from Seronera Airstrip.

The Reservations Manager will play a critical role in driving revenue performance, managing reservation operations, leading a high-performing reservations team, and ensuring rate integrity across all distribution channels. The successful candidate will be responsible for yield management strategies, forecasting, coordination with Sales and Marketing, and delivering Four Seasons’ legendary service standards.


Duties and Responsibilities

1. Revenue & Yield Management

  • Direct all reservation activities to achieve budgeted occupancy and revenue targets
  • Implement yield and revenue management strategies based on business trends and system data
  • Prepare demand trend tables, occupancy forecasts, revenue forecasts, and monthly performance reports
  • Work closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing to implement selling strategies and pricing tactics
  • Manage the Delphi Yield System and ensure accurate updates in the Property Management System (PMS)
  • Maintain rate parity, accuracy, and integrity across all sales channels

2. Departmental Operations

  • Oversee daily reservations operations and ensure policies and procedures are followed
  • Review arrival lists one week and two days prior to arrival to ensure all bookings are secure
  • Manage villa reservations and ensure special handling for VIPs and repeat guests
  • Maintain accurate records of pick-ups, cancellations, no-shows, and booking sources
  • Oversee CIS programs and up-selling initiatives within Reservations and Front Office

3. Collaboration & Communication

  • Coordinate closely with Sales & Marketing on group bookings, cut-off dates, and special events
  • Communicate key projects and business updates to the Worldwide Reservations Office (WRO)
  • Chair monthly Reservations Meetings and participate in bi-weekly BOO meetings
  • Build professional relationships within the Four Seasons regional and global network

4. Team Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, train, mentor, and appraise Reservations team members
  • Prepare staff schedules and manage weekly timesheets
  • Ensure all team members uphold Four Seasons Core and Culture standards
  • Promote a strong sales mindset and product knowledge among staff

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university

Experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a Reservations Manager or similar leadership role
  • Previous Department Head experience in a hotel or resort environment is highly preferred
  • Proven experience in Revenue and Yield Management

Technical Skills

  • Strong experience using a Property Management System (Opera preferred)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word

Personal Attributes

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment
  • High standards of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail
