Based in Arusha, this role is essential for driving the financial sustainability and global visibility of programs that provide quality education, life skills, and leadership development across Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

Role Purpose

The Associate acts as a bridge between Asante Africa’s impactful field work and the global community of donors and partners. You will be responsible for identifying new funding streams, crafting compelling narratives of success, and managing strategic partnerships to ensure the organization meets its growth targets.

Key Responsibilities & Areas of Impact

1. Strategic Resource Mobilization

  • Grant Writing: Lead the development of high-quality proposals and concept notes for national and international grant opportunities.
  • Donor Cultivation: Build and maintain long-term relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and foundations.
  • Network Expansion: Represent Asante Africa at high-level events and conferences to increase the organization’s footprint.
  • Compliance: Work closely with the Finance department to ensure all grant-funded activities comply with specific donor regulations and reporting standards.

2. Impactful Communications & Visibility

  • Content Creation: Produce professional newsletters, brochures, and annual reports that highlight the organization’s milestones.
  • Digital Strategy: Manage social media platforms and the website, ensuring a consistent and engaging brand voice.
  • Field Documentation: Travel to project sites to document field activities through photography, video, and high-impact storytelling.
  • Brand Advocacy: Ensure all internal and external materials strictly adhere to Asante Africa’s branding guidelines.

3. Partnership Management & Administration

  • Event Coordination: Organize outreach activities, volunteer meetings, and partner appreciation events.
  • Performance Tracking: Maintain a detailed dashboard of fundraising activities against established annual targets.
  • Internal Reporting: Support internal transparency by sharing progress reports and impact data across the regional team.

Candidate Profile: Who Should Apply?

Asante Africa is looking for a versatile professional who combines technical expertise in NGO management with exceptional interpersonal skills.

Educational Requirements:

  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Development Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.

Professional Experience:

  • Tenure: 3–5 years of progressive experience in resource mobilization or corporate communications.
  • Sector Knowledge: Direct experience working within the NGO or non-profit sector is highly preferred.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proven experience in digital communication tools, grant writing, and donor CRM systems.
