Role Overview: The Strategic Guardian

The Security Manager is responsible for the design, administration, and continuous review of all security operations. This role is not merely about surveillance; it is a strategic position that involves risk assessment, crisis management, and ensuring total compliance with Tanzanian state and legal regulations.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Policy Leadership & Compliance

• Strategic Advice: Advise senior management on the implementation of security policies that align with both international Rotana standards and local legal requirements.
• Information Distribution: Direct the preparation and dissemination of security protocols to all staff members to ensure a culture of vigilance.
• External Relations: Represent Johari Rotana in formal meetings with government organizations, law enforcement, and private protective services.

2. Property & Asset Protection

• Securing the Perimeter: Ensure that all 5-star facilities—including the pool, wellness areas, restaurants, and apartments—are adequately monitored and secured 24/7.
• Incident Management: Lead the investigation of all allegations of crime or property incidents, ensuring meticulous recording and reporting.
• Goal Setting: Establish and track annual security objectives to continuously improve the property’s safety rating.

3. Emergency Preparedness & Training

• Crisis Response: Maintain expert-level familiarity with anti-terrorist protocols, bomb threat prevention, and fire safety procedures.
• Training Development: Design specialized training modules to guide security officers and hotel staff through critical decision-making processes during emergencies.
