1. Assistant Nursing Officer (ANO) / Enrolled Nurse

Job Description

Under the supervision of the Hospital Matron, the Assistant Nursing Officer (ANO) will provide high-quality nursing care and patient support services at Kitengule Hospital. The role involves maintaining professional nursing standards, supporting patients and families, and contributing to a safe, dignified, and compassionate healthcare environment in line with hospital policies and professional nursing codes of conduct.

The ANO will also play a leadership role within the nursing team by supporting efficient service delivery, staff motivation, and adherence to clinical standards.

Qualifications

Applicants must have:

• High school education or equivalent
• Certificate or Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery
• Current registration with the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council (TNMC)
• Valid nursing license
• At least one (1) year of working experience
• Basic computer skills

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Assessing and providing appropriate nursing care to patients
• Assisting patients with daily activities and personal care
• Administering medication as prescribed
• Monitoring and recording vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature)
• Observing, recording, and reporting patient progress
• Ensuring patients receive appropriate hospital services and care

Required Attributes

• Ability to work independently and under supervision
• Valid CPR certification
• Presentable and professional appearance
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Creativity and a positive attitude

2. Medical Attendants

Job Description

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, Medical Attendants will assist patients with basic personal and clinical care needs. The role supports nursing staff in daily ward activities and ensures patient comfort, safety, and dignity.

Qualifications

Applicants must have:

• Form Four Certificate
• Assistant Nursing Certificate
• At least one (1) year of working experience
• Basic computer skills (added advantage)

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Assisting patients with feeding, bathing, positioning, and mobility
• Conducting sanitary rounds and bed making
• Supporting triage and patient orientation
• Assisting nurses with cannulation, dressing, injections, and vaccinations
• Supporting disabled patients
• Performing other duties as assigned
