Job Description

TEF Consult, a reputable recruitment and consultancy firm operating under Tanzania Empowerment Forum (TEF), is seeking a Stock and Cash Reconciliation Officer on behalf of a well-established telecommunications client based in Dar es Salaam. The Stock and Cash Reconciliation Officer will be responsible for ensuring accurate daily reconciliation of cash and stock transactions across retail shops, agents, warehouses, and partners. Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key functions:

Cash Reconciliation

• Reconcile daily cash collections against system records including sales, deposits, and orders
• Verify that cash received from retail shops, agents, and partners is submitted accurately and on time
• Identify cash variances and follow up with responsible teams for timely resolution
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cash reconciliation reports
• Monitor compliance with established cash-handling procedures

Stock Reconciliation

• Reconcile physical stock movements with system entries such as issues, returns, transfers, and adjustments
• Verify accuracy of stock issuance from warehouses, shops, and field agents
• Investigate stock discrepancies, shortages, or delays in system posting
• Track stock allocated to partners and ensure proper documentation and updates

Compliance, Controls, and Reporting

• Ensure adherence to company policies, internal controls, and audit standards
• Report risks, irregularities, or recurring issues to management
• Support internal and external audits with accurate documentation
• Prepare reconciliation summaries and trend analysis reports

Collaboration & Support

• Liaise with finance, warehouse teams, retail staff, and regional teams
• Guide staff on correct stock and cash posting procedures
• Participate in training and capacity-building initiatives
• Perform other duties assigned by the Team Leader or Manager

Job Requirements

Academic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field

Experience

• 1–3 years of experience in reconciliation, accounting, audit, or financial operations
• Experience in telecommunications, retail, FMCG, or distribution is an added advantage

Technical Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced)
• Experience with ERP systems or reconciliation software
• Understanding of internal controls and audit standards
