4. Job Description

Coca-Cola Kwanza is seeking a highly driven and experienced professional to fill the position of Lead: Regional Trade Marketing, based in Mbeya. Coca-Cola Kwanza is part of Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA), the eighth-largest authorized Coca-Cola bottler globally and the largest on the African continent. CCBA operates in 14 African countries and serves over 800,000 customers with a wide portfolio of international and local beverage brands.

In Tanzania, Coca-Cola Kwanza covers approximately 54% of the country’s geography and employs more than 900 employees, playing a significant role in economic development and market leadership in the FMCG sector.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Revenue Growth & Trade Marketing Director and will be responsible for driving regional sales growth through strategic trade marketing initiatives. The role focuses on enhancing brand visibility, improving merchandising standards, strengthening customer engagement, and ensuring optimal utilization of trade marketing resources to deliver strong commercial performance in the Mbeya region.

5. Duties and Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Drive regional volume growth and market share through effective trade marketing activations across targeted regions and wholesale channels.
  • Ensure superior product placement, merchandising excellence, and strong brand visibility across multiple retail environments.
  • Execute impactful trade promotions, product launches, and market activation events to increase customer participation and brand loyalty.
  • Ensure timely execution of trade marketing projects in line with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and customer expectations.
  • Optimize utilization of the trade marketing budget to deliver maximum Return on Investment (ROI) while maintaining channel profitability.
  • Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities and provide actionable insights.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales and Marketing teams to ensure alignment of trade marketing programs with overall business objectives.
  • Monitor performance of trade marketing initiatives using KPIs, dashboards, and data-driven reports to recommend continuous improvements.
  • Build, manage, and strengthen relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and key retail partners.
  • Train and support sales teams on brand standards, promotional mechanics, and in-store execution excellence.
  • Ensure full compliance with corporate brand guidelines, trade marketing policies, and governance standards.

6. Job Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Public Relations, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in trade marketing or frontline sales roles within an FMCG environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering strong commercial results through merchandising, promotions, and activation campaigns.
  • Solid experience in sales and marketing, with exposure to channel strategy, revenue growth management, or new product development considered an advantage.
