Position: Finance Officer

Location: Dar es Salaam
Employment Type: Full-time

NCA Tanzania is looking for an organized, analytical, and detail-oriented Finance Officer to support financial operations and ensure compliance with internal and donor requirements.


Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

1. Financial Processing and Compliance

  • Prepare internal and external disbursements, ensuring alignment with NCA guidelines, donor requirements, and approved budgets.
  • Verify that all payment requests are fully supported and authorized in line with NCA Tanzania approval levels.
  • Review and validate all vendor/supplier documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with NCA financial procedures.

2. Payroll and Statutory Obligations

  • Manage the monthly payroll process efficiently.
  • Ensure timely submission of statutory deductions, including:
    • PAYE
    • Pension contributions
    • SDL
    • Workers’ Compensation Fund (WCF)

3. Documentation and Audit Support

  • Maintain a complete and organized audit trail, including vouchers, receipts, and supporting documents.
  • Prepare documents for internal and external audits and submit all required information promptly.

4. Financial Reporting and Liquidity Management

  • Prepare quarterly financial forecasts and expenditure projections.
  • Submit funding requests to NCA Head Office in a timely manner.
  • Monitor bank accounts regularly to ensure adequate liquidity for operations.

5. Partner Monitoring and Capacity Building

  • Participate in monitoring visits to implementing partners.
  • Support partners with financial capacity-building initiatives to enhance compliance and accountability.

6. Additional Duties

  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the line manager in support of smooth financial operations.

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • CPA or intermediate CPA level is an added advantage.

Professional Experience

  • At least two (2) years of relevant work experience, preferably within the NGO sector.
  • Practical experience using accounting software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing environments.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to deliver timely results with minimal supervision.
