Job Description

The Relationship Manager – Premier Banking will be responsible for managing and expanding the bank’s affluent and high-net-worth client segment. The role focuses on providing personalized financial solutions, delivering exceptional banking experiences, and driving sustainable portfolio growth. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong interpersonal skills, deep knowledge of wealth management products, and the ability to achieve profitability targets while maintaining high service standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Business Development & Portfolio Growth
- Lead the acquisition, onboarding, and retention of high-value and affluent clients within the Premier Banking segment.
- Expand the Premier portfolio by promoting Ecobank’s products and services across deposits, lending, investments, insurance, and advisory solutions.
- Drive sustainable growth in deposits, assets under management, lending activities, and fee income.
- Develop and implement strategies to strengthen customer relationships and increase wallet share.
2. Sales & Financial Performance
- Prepare and deliver sales strategies to meet revenue, deposit, risk-asset, and profitability targets.
- Manage approved budgets for the Premier Banking segment, ensuring cost efficiency and optimum use of resources.
- Drive cross-selling initiatives and identify opportunities for product penetration and client engagement.
- Ensure that customer service delivery aligns with Ecobank’s standards of excellence.
3. Wealth Management & Client Advisory
- Provide high-net-worth customers with expert advisory on financial planning, investment opportunities, and risk management.
- Offer tailored solutions based on customer needs and market trends, ensuring long-term financial growth and client satisfaction.
- Maintain regular contact with clients to review their portfolios and provide updates on new products or market developments.
4. Operational Excellence & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with operational, regulatory, and risk management requirements.
- Uphold the bank’s governance policies, ethical standards, and compliance frameworks.
- Identify risk exposures in client portfolios and recommend mitigating actions.
- Safeguard client information and maintain confidentiality in handling customer data.
5. Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with internal departments including product development, finance, risk, and operations to ensure seamless client service delivery.
- Work with marketing and communication teams to effectively position Ecobank as the preferred wealth management partner in Tanzania.
- Share industry insights, best practices, and market trends with colleagues to enhance team performance.
Qualifications & Experience
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
Professional Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in private banking, wealth management, or high-net-worth client relationship management.
- Strong understanding of investment products, lending solutions, financial planning, and advisory services.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex client portfolios and deliver tailored wealth solutions.
- Proficiency in communication, negotiation, client engagement, and business development.
