4. Job Description

CRDB Bank is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Specialist – Digital Channels Systems to support the Bank’s growing digital ecosystem. This role sits within the ICT Department and is responsible for providing second-level support for all self-service and digital channels platforms. The Specialist will ensure efficient daily operations, timely issue escalation, system stability, and high service availability across multiple digital platforms used by customers nationwide.

The position demands an experienced ICT professional with hands-on expertise in digital channels operations, system integrations, testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting. The role supports mission-critical platforms such as Internet Banking, SimBanking (USSD & Mobile App), FAO, Smart Branch, TMS, SimAccount, Agent Banking, SMS Services, and numerous ESB-driven integrations with both internal and external systems. The Specialist must be able to work independently, respond to technical incidents promptly, and collaborate effectively with vendors, project teams, and business stakeholders to ensure smooth customer experiences across all digital touchpoints.

5. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide second-level technical support and continuous monitoring across all digital channels systems.
  • Offer 24/7 on-call support and manage daily system operations to ensure uninterrupted service availability.
  • Document, review, analyze, and validate functional and technical specifications for system upgrades, enhancements, and change requests.
  • Evaluate system updates, conduct system integration testing (SIT), perform user acceptance testing (UAT) support, and implement approved changes in compliance with the Change Management Policy.
  • Deploy upgrades, patches, hotfixes, and integrations across multiple systems and platforms.
  • Coordinate vendor activities and ensure timely resolution of system incidents and service disruptions.
  • Provide end-user support through troubleshooting, investigation, documentation, and resolution of both hardware and software issues.
  • Configure hardware components, digital channel services, storage, settings, and system directories according to operational requirements.
  • Perform daily health checks to ensure availability, data integrity, server performance, and completion of scheduled processes including automated tasks and backups.
  • Perform and verify backup operations, ensuring data recovery and system restoration where necessary.
  • Restore services following incidents involving hardware or software failure in collaboration with affected stakeholders.
  • Promote teamwork, innovation, problem-solving, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify system risks and proactively implement mitigation and preventive measures.

6. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or any ICT-related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in an ICT technical role within organizations of similar size and operational complexity.
  • Professional certification in IT Service Management (e.g., ITIL) is required.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting digital banking platforms, self-service channels, and enterprise integrations.
  • Strong understanding of Digital Channels technologies, ESB, and customer-facing system architectures.
  • Excellent technical communication, stakeholder engagement, and vendor management abilities.
  • Proficiency in both Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Strong teamwork capability with the ability to work independently and handle high-pressure technical environments.
  • Solid understanding of SLAs and proven experience managing service performance.
  • Awareness of people management and leadership principles is an added advantage.
