Job Description
Catalonia Hotels & Resorts is seeking a highly organized and proactive HR Coordinator to provide essential administrative and operational support within the People Department at our Pwani Mchangani resort. This role is a key internal resource, ensuring seamless communication between employees and the HR team while maintaining accurate personnel files, updated employee records, and efficient department-wide processes. The HR Coordinator plays a foundational role in supporting HR operations and ensuring the department runs with precision and professionalism.

The successful candidate will support multiple HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, learning and development, HR documentation, and general employee support services. This requires an individual with strong multitasking abilities, excellent communication skills, and a high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information. You will assist with interview scheduling, preparation of HR documents, maintaining HRIS data accuracy, and ensuring that all HR processes comply with internal policies and Tanzanian labor regulations.

Additionally, the HR Coordinator will support both the Payroll Officer and Learning & Development Executive when needed. This includes helping with training logistics, documentation updates, attendance tracking, and administrative preparation for various HR initiatives. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced hospitality environment where accuracy, professionalism, and consistent follow-through are essential. Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist with recruitment logistics, including posting job vacancies, scheduling interviews, and maintaining applicant records.
• Prepare onboarding and offboarding documentation and coordinate all related processes.
• Maintain accurate personnel files and ensure all employee records are kept updated in the HRIS system.
• Support payroll and timekeeping functions by collecting and organizing required data.
• Assist the Learning & Development team with training schedules, attendance tracking, and workshop coordination.
• Handle employee inquiries, provide first-level HR support, and direct staff to appropriate HR personnel when needed.
• Maintain department calendars, schedule internal meetings, and support overall HR communication efforts.
• Prepare letters, HR reports, memos, and other correspondence as required.
• Uphold confidentiality protocols while handling sensitive employee information.
• Ensure all HR processes align with organizational policies and Tanzanian labor laws.
• Support the HR department in administrative tasks that enhance operational effectiveness.
• Monitor and organize HR documentation such as contracts, performance records, and compliance documents.


Job Requirements
• Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in HR operations, preferably within the hospitality industry.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency using MS Office and HR software systems.
• Outstanding organizational skills and strong attention to detail in managing HR records.
• Ability to support multiple HR functions, including recruitment, payroll, and L&D.
• Experience handling employee inquiries and providing professional HR assistance.
• Skilled in scheduling interviews, coordinating meetings, and managing departmental calendars.
• Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Ability to assist in onboarding and offboarding processes.
• Excellent communication skills for preparing reports, letters, and other HR documentation.
