Job Description:
Bagamoyo Sugar Limited is seeking a dedicated WTP Operator to manage and maintain Water Treatment Plant (WTP) systems at its Bagamoyo facility. The role involves overseeing the operation of essential equipment—including filters, softeners, and chemical dosing units—to ensure efficient and reliable water treatment processes.

Daily duties include monitoring and adjusting key water quality parameters such as pH, hardness, TDS, and chlorine levels to ensure compliance with required standards. The operator will also maintain accurate records of operational data, flow rates, and chemical usage for performance evaluation. This position requires strict adherence to safety protocols, thorough equipment inspections, routine preventive maintenance, and quick response to operational issues to maintain optimal plant performance.

Job Requirements:

• Diploma in Water Treatment Technology, Laboratory Technology, Chemical and Process/Plant Operations, or a related field
• Minimum of one year of experience in water treatment operations
• Proficiency in both English and Kiswahili
• Hands-on experience operating water treatment equipment such as filters, softeners, and chemical dosing systems
• Ability to monitor and adjust water quality indicators (pH, TDS, hardness, chlorine)
• Skilled in conducting inspections, equipment cleaning, and preventive maintenance
• Strong commitment to safety procedures, including proper PPE use and chemical handling
• Ability to troubleshoot and report operational issues effectively
• Competence in recording and managing operational data, including flow rates and chemical consumption
• Strong communication skills for reporting and coordination
