Africab Co. Ltd., a fast-growing leader in the manufacturing and engineering sector, is expanding its operations across Tanzania and is seeking a highly driven and technically competent Procurement & Technical Engineer. This full-time role is essential in strengthening our procurement activities, ensuring high-quality sourcing, and maintaining efficient supply chain operations for ongoing and upcoming projects. The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of engineering knowledge, procurement expertise, and excellent negotiation skills to support Africab’s commitment to operational excellence.

This position requires a proactive professional capable of handling technical vendor evaluations, negotiating contracts, analyzing costs, and ensuring strict adherence to company standards and local regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with both the engineering and procurement departments to ensure that all sourced materials, equipment, and components meet the required technical specifications and quality benchmarks. This includes reading and interpreting engineering drawings, coordinating supplier performance reviews, and managing long-term procurement strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery timelines.

A solid understanding of supply chain management principles is crucial, as the role involves coordinating logistics, reviewing import/export documentation, and ensuring compliance with Tanzania’s customs regulations. The Procurement & Technical Engineer will also oversee technical procurement workflows within ERP systems, ensuring accurate data entry, tracking of purchase orders, and real-time supply chain visibility. Candidates with mechanical or electrical engineering backgrounds will be highly preferred due to the technical nature of the role.

Job Requirements:

• Proven experience in technical procurement, engineering sourcing, or related technical purchasing roles.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage vendor relationships effectively.
• Comprehensive understanding of supply chain management concepts and best practices.
• Ability to read, interpret, and evaluate technical drawings, schematics, and engineering specifications.
• Educational background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Hands-on experience in contract management, cost analysis, and procurement planning.
• Familiarity with Tanzanian import/export regulations, customs procedures, and documentation.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement management software.
• Ability to ensure adherence to technical specifications and quality standards throughout the procurement cycle.
• Age limit up to 40 years with readiness to join within 45 days.
