Job Description:
The World Food Programme (WFP) is seeking a Logistics Assistant (SC 5) to support logistics and supply chain operations in Dodoma. The role focuses on implementing standard procedures to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods, services, and food assistance across all delivery channels.

Key responsibilities include supporting procurement and contracting activities, such as drafting Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and tracking contract expiries. The position also involves managing purchase orders, contributing to budget development, and coordinating with internal teams and external partners to maintain smooth operational workflows. The Assistant will assist in data collection, continuous process improvement, and preparing accurate reports used in Supply Chain dashboards for decision-making.

Job Requirements:

• University degree in Procurement and Logistics, Supply Chain, Shipping, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in logistics and operations within a commercial entity or a national/international humanitarian organization
• Proficient in Windows and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Fluent in English and Swahili (written and spoken)
• Experience coordinating supply chain activities across functions and external stakeholders
• Ability to draft RFQs, perform bid analysis, and prepare award letters
• Knowledge of contract monitoring, expiry tracking, and allocation management under Tariff System Agreements
• Skilled in creating and managing purchase orders, including validation and closure
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to support process improvement
• Experience in inventory management monitoring and generating detailed reports
