Job Description:
Africab Co. Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and technically proficient HVAC Technician/Engineer to join our growing team and support our facilities across Tanzania. This full-time position plays a critical role in ensuring that all our heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems operate with maximum efficiency, safety, and reliability. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience, deep knowledge of HVAC systems, and the ability to diagnose and resolve issues with precision and professionalism. As Africab continues to expand its infrastructure and operational footprint, we require a committed expert capable of maintaining excellent climate-control standards for both residential and large-scale commercial environments.

In this role, the HVAC Technician/Engineer will be responsible for a wide range of tasks that include installing new air conditioning and ventilation systems, conducting routine maintenance, troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical problems, and ensuring all systems adhere to industry best practices and the company’s internal safety protocols. The role also demands an ability to interpret and work from detailed blueprints, wiring schematics, and technical diagrams. You will be required to perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime, improve energy efficiency, and extend the lifespan of HVAC components across all Africab Co. Ltd. facilities.

The ideal candidate should be physically fit, capable of working in various environmental conditions, and comfortable handling specialized HVAC tools and diagnostic equipment. Experience with refrigeration cycles, compressors, air handling units, chillers, split systems, and ventilation networks will be essential. Candidates with exposure to Tanzanian building codes, environmental regulations, and compliance standards will be given preference. All candidates must be up to 40 years old and able to join the company within 45 days of receiving an offer. Relevant technical certifications or a degree in HVAC Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field are strongly preferred. This role demands reliability, accuracy, and strong problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with other technical teams and operational departments.

Job Requirements:
• Proven expertise in the installation, servicing, and repair of HVAC systems.
• Technical certification or relevant degree in HVAC or Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, HVAC components, and diagnostic techniques.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical schematics.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC systems.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and adherence to strict safety protocols.
• Ability to work on both residential and large commercial HVAC units.
• Physical strength, flexibility, and stamina for fieldwork and handling equipment.
• Knowledge of Tanzanian building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
• Age limit up to 40 years and availability to join within 45 days.
