Job Overview

Radhya Abbasy is seeking a highly skilled Chinese Translator to support seamless communication between our English-speaking teams and Chinese partners at our Kibaha Pwani location. The role includes translating official documents, reports, and communications, as well as providing simultaneous or consecutive interpretation during meetings, site visits, and negotiations.

The ideal candidate will be fluent in Mandarin and English, demonstrating linguistic accuracy, cultural awareness, and professionalism in every interaction. Prior experience in translation or interpretation is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate written materials such as reports, contracts, administrative documents, and official communications.
• Provide accurate simultaneous or consecutive interpretation during meetings, presentations, and on-site engagements.
• Ensure all translations maintain accuracy, clarity, and contextual relevance.
• Facilitate cross-cultural communication between Chinese and English-speaking stakeholders.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
• Support international collaboration through clear and precise language delivery.
• Utilize translation tools or CAT software when needed.

Candidate Requirements

• Native or near-native fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English (both written and spoken).
• Proven experience in translation and simultaneous or consecutive interpretation.
• Strong cultural understanding of Chinese and Tanzanian business environments.
• Ability to accurately translate technical, commercial, or administrative materials.
• Excellent listening, memory, and note-taking skills for interpretation tasks.
• High attention to detail and strong commitment to linguistic accuracy.
• Proficiency with translation tools (CAT tools a plus).
• Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Translation, or a related field (preferred).
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
